Healthy habits that improve our way of life….

What daily habit do you do that improves your quality of life?

Daily habits start to form in our earliest years and are usually formed and hard to break by the age of nine and are behaviors and actions that we do subconsciously.

However, we aren’t really aware of them until we are in our 30s+ which is interesting and since a habit is formed in such a short time it can be either great or destructive to our lives.

A small fact is, that habits can be formed within a short period of 2-3 weeks however, to break a habit it can take from as little as 18 days to nearly a year… fascinated yet?

Let’s just take a quick look at some of the things that start while we are with our parents as an example…

  • Cleaning
  • Personal hygiene
  • Food choices
  • Adaptability
  • Clothing

The list goes on.

What habits are healthy in our lives?

I can’t suggest or tell others how to live, but I can let you know what habits we have that better our lives versus those that we can and have gotten rid of.

  • Living as low tox as possible in our daily lives has helped us reduce breathing issues, and skin problems, and keep the home smelling, and feeling more clean and natural than ever before.
    • This is achieved by moving to essential oils in the home for cleaning, diffusing, and washing.
  • Planting and growing as much of our own fruit and vegetables as our area can.
  • Growing our own eggs, goats, and as beekeepers our own honey.
  • Homeschooling our children as holistically as possible where they can learn and grow into their own beautiful natures
  • Making sure that all necessary needs are met for all in the family and the resources to achieve are available.
  • Trying to keep family dysfunction to a minimum, yes this can be hard, tempers flair, and words that shouldn’t be said do get said however, all we can do is keep trying to achieve that harmony.

These are just some of our basic daily, monthly, and yearly changes that we achieved over 15 years ago and have reaped the benefits of.

For the best part though I will focus on simple things, especially the reduced chemicals in the home and becoming low tox.

This has been amazing and when I started using DoTerra oils over 20 years ago and incorporating them into our home life it made things easier and also better for the family.

Our children don’t have skin issues, or breathing issues like they have in the past, I still get the seasonal sinus, but that has been reduced thanks to utilizing the diffusers every night.

The bedding getting washed in chemical-free cleaners, like the soap nuts has been a blessing they always smell fresh and when needed I mix up a solution for the heavier soiled items.

Showering and bathing with chemical-free products has left all of us with better skin, especially my husband who suffers from drier skin.

I have been moving across to the Young Living oils recently and found that they are just as brilliant as the DoTerra oils and I have a fair bit more freedom with the usages.

For things like their Thieves brand, I purchased the hand wash and have found that each of these hand soaps can turn into three.

The Thieves brand also has the household cleaner and all of these dilute down to triple or more the output of them, along with doing a great job on things like your stove.

My healthy habits have made the family healthier.

By just changing this one thing in our daily life we have made the home low-tox and healthier, Adding that to the foods we grow and where we live the habits that we are helping our children in their daily-life procure make their adult lives easier.

At least this is what every parent hopes for when they raise their children, is to help them become functioning and healthy in every aspect of their lives moving forward.
