When you’re not allowed opinions as a content creator..

Who knew, NO, really who knew???

That is the question I need to ask!!!.

Recently, I found on a page that I am a content creator for, a review made about an opinion I shared on a Facebook page.

This review had nothing to do with travel, it had everything to do with my opinion on vegans vs. meat eaters.

Yep, you heard correctly, My opinion on either side bashing each other verbally for what they eat made someone feel they needed to dislike another’s professional page because I called an opinion out, and it wasn’t even that person.

Confused- you don’t need validation from others, you already know the answers.

Now, to be clear, I really have NO issue with what a person eats as I feel that they are in control of their body and can make sound decisions for themselves as to what their body needs to function at optimal performance.

But, when people decide to invade a person’s workplace for the opinion they shared I feel it is crossing the line.

My opinion clearly stated that it was a personal choice with an “I don’t give a shit and you clearly are the bored shitless” retort to their comments about me being bored shitless, you know, that childish retort thing we sometimes do.

I probably shouldn’t have responded that way, however, I actually didn’t realize that Facebook had stuck a vegan page on my feed and I thought it was the page “farmers sick of defending themselves” page.

I have never been a part of a vegan, vegetarian, or meat eaters support page, I am part of some cooking pages though.

So, as the story goes, this person felt the need to write a review, share my private profile screenshots of the conversation, and state that she hated the business because their content creators weren’t on the vegan’s side.

Have your opinion, don’t let the keyboard warriors take your voice…

Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

I put in a dispute with Facebook about my privacy being shared,.

Guess what? It didn’t breach community standards.

Yep, anyone can screenshot and share your page, your photos, your kids, your workplace, etc. and it won’t breach community standards, your privacy yes, community standards NO..

My profile is locked, and friends only so this wasn’t so bad, but what about those that aren’t….?

These days, thank goodness to a person for bringing the comment, like, and share on pages to my attention as stomping or undermining people I no longer do anything on anyone that I don’t trust on social media.

If I had known before, I would never have supported anyone by commenting on pages, sharing posts, or liking anything.

Your opinion or any of these actions can be viewed as stomping on others, something to take action against, or undermining them even though sharing or tagging them actually has greater reach on your page than theirs.

I now only work from my business Facebook page and share nothing of anyone else on my page unless it is Yoga Australia or a VERY trusted person in my life.

Do we really want a world where communication is a weird concept outside of messaging?

The sensitivity of others these days has hit an all-time high with everything you say or do being scrutinized, viewed as stonewalling, or just plain out of order.

I now also only allow messages to be requested and my profile has only those that are 100% a trusted unit in our lives.

Social media is now all-encompassing and with people more sensitive to anything or everything in life we need to take a step back and take control of our lives, our opinions, our emotions, and our actions.

Start to unwind from the ties of the internet world and enjoy the reality of life instead of being held back, held down, and emotionally tortured by the ever-present keyboard warriors.

Stay safe, stay free, and stay strong everyone ❤️🙏
